Achievements 2007

Every member on TDYC is encouraged to take part in a number of activities and events. Not only does it show our commitment to the community, it also builds members confidence, which is really important for Cameron "because as our confidence grows so does are successes and 2007 really proved that".

Annual Report 2006

TDYC was the only youth council in 2006 to have produced an annual report, this just goes to show how committed we are in showing the efforts made by children and young people.

The report was an innovation itself which can easily be read by both adults and children, well at the end of the day it is a youth council.

Charity Events

The youth council is proud to organise and take part in charity events. During 2007 members took to the streets to walk, roll and skate for the Joy of Jordan Fund to help raise vital cash for a new wheelchair.

The TDYC crew also gave up a sunny afternoon to Smile for Lucy by taking part in a sponsored walk along Clacton sea front, just as well it was sunny!

Outdoor Activities

TDYC played host to a number of activities including a development training camp for its members to Danbury Outdoors to work on communication and trust skills. Membership development training is important for TDYC.

Anti-Bullying Project

Members of TDYC said in 2007 "lets stamp out bullying" so we did.

Workshops were organised right across Tendring to give young people aged 12 - 16 a chance to look at ways of how to reduce the amount of bullying through a serious of self defence, assertiveness and awareness classes.

Over 160 young people took part and they all felt they gained something from it.

High Sheriffs Double

Award Winners

Glamorous dresses and bond style suits were the attire when TDYC collected not one but two awards from the High Sheriff of Essex for the efforts we put into the anti-bullying project.
